After the briefing, participants are taken to a confined water area, such as a swimming pool or shallow beach, where they can practice basic scuba skills and become comfortable with breathing underwater. Once they feel comfortable, they are then taken on a guided dive in open water, typically to a maximum depth of around 12 meters (40 feet).

The instructor closely supervises the participants throughout the entire experience, ensuring their safety and providing assistance as needed. The duration of a Discovery Scuba Dive can vary, but it is usually a single dive lasting around 30 to 60 minutes.
